Video: Arab blogger, Fouad Al-Farhan, jailed
Ahmad Fouad Al-Farhan, an Arab blogger - see our story below - and a resident of Jeddah, was arrested at his workplace by police on December 10. Authorities are holding him in prison without charges.

2. Because societies do not progress until they learn to respect opinions of their members. And we would like to see our society progressing.

Despite the right of freedom of speech, as a Saudi, Al-Farhan should've been more careful about what to publish in his blog because all Saudis know what happens when you criticize their government. [a Saudi friend and I] have mixed feelings about the whole issue. There's still a long way to go in Saudi, I always say Saudi Arabia today is like the 1950's in the West. I think that what Al-Farhan did was both courageous and dare I say, stupid :S
