Saudi Bloggers Push Cultural Boundaries

The Saudi Bureau of the Washington Post reports that bloggers are challenging political and cultural restrictions. Bloggers are managing to publish despite attempts to be shut down. Sexual boundaries are being challenged too. A woman blogging as "Mystique" writes about life in Saudi from a women's point of view. One post recounts her real-life experience at a local store that sells sex paraphernalia.

i think the blog is a real eye-opener. That there are other women out there who have similar problems. It's definitely on my bookmarks :)

blogging not only has become a new off-shoot of journalism but also literature, although untamed and raw but sure is pushing convential media to new boundaries.. lets all make efforts to use this tool to share, learn and grow.

It is not surprising that such views are being shared on blogs. It was bound to happen at some point; in any society, people would eventually find means to express their opinions freely. It would be interesting to see how many more people try to rebel against the “rules.”
